CrossFit is a strength and conditioning program designed on functional movements. These movements are natural, universal, essential to our independent living and quality of life, and are safe. CrossFit is based on a combination of gymnastics, metabolic conditioning, and weightlifting. It is designed for universal scalability, making it the perfect program for any committed individual regardless of experience and ability. The CrossFit Prescription is “constantly varied, high-intensity, functional movements”. CrossFit attempts to optimize physical competence in each of 10 recognized fitness domains. These domains include Cardio-respiratory endurance, Stamina, Strength, Flexibility, Power, Speed, Coordination, Agility, Balance, and Accuracy.

What Is CrossFit Kids?

Modeled after the CrossFit program, it uses the template of randomized (constantly varied), functional exercises performed at high intensity. Adjustments are made to accommodate the specific needs and requirements of children, teens, and those with special needs. Workouts consist of exercises containing elements drawn from the 10 recognized physical skills, while special attention is paid to utilizing progression for difficult or compound movements, and progressive loading dictated by size, age, and consistency in form.
